From Abandoned Building to Bustling Business Space | Wauwatosa, WI
This newly renovated 9,000 square foot, multi-tenant building sits on a busy corner in the Village of Wauwatosa. Tenants include a spin studio, 9Round kick boxing studio, Stone Creek Coffee café, and a veterinary hospital.
GROTH Design Group completed both the base building renovation as well as tenant build-outs for three of the spaces. Located in a thriving neighborhood, the goal of the project was to convert an abandoned building back to being a beautiful asset for the community.
The project began with stripping the building back to its bones, adding strategic accents such as overhangs, garden walls, a small tower element and a three season enclosed patio.
Challenges included a very tight site with significant grade changes and unique circulation issues. Additionally, given the split-level nature of this building, careful attention to egress routes and occupant loads was required.
