The owners of the Art of Joy Mercantile had a mission: Create a space that provides the opportunity for making authentic connections and enhance the lives of those within the community. Art of Joy is the embodiment of all things joy for the owners- it is an event space, a lounge- meant for both adults and kids, a retail shop and an establishment that serves high-end cocktails and appetizers in the heart of Cedarburg.

The creative environment is a seamless blend that blurs the lines between a retail setting and casual drinking establishment to deliver a socialite’s delight.

The design echoes the community vibrancy with a unique setting. Cedar Creek is a perfect backdrop for the outdoor gathering space. The design is made complete with an outdoor patio, stage-like area for live music, green-space to host a friendly game of bags and an area for the parked airstream, affectionately referred to as the “Joy Ride” that serves as the outdoor bar.

The interior space is filled with features from local artists; hand painted wall-murals and hand crafted retail items. Whimsical, yet high end finishes were selected to deliver a space that serves the entire community with a fun and creative environment for all to relax and take in the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
