Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church
New Worship Space Expansion | West Bend, WI
Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is a relatively new congregation located on the northwest side of West Bend, Wis. The congregation built their first building in 2005 which consisted of a worship space, gathering space and kitchen, and staff offices. In 2016, the congregation expanded their campus with additional Sunday School and Bible Class classrooms. Today, the congregation has continued to grow and has outgrown their current worship space.
Shepherd of the Hills reached out to GROTH Design Group in 2019 to develop an expansion of a new worship space to connect to their existing building campus. GROTH Design Group developed a worship space serving up to 450 people, as well as additional classrooms, restrooms, and kitchen. Their existing worship space will be reconfigured as a gathering and fellowship space. Challenges connecting an existing building with new construction were addressed with sprinkler systems and firewalls.
The project held a groundbreaking ceremony March 2024 and construction is expected to continue through the year with an anticipated completion for December 2024.
